Machine Signs
Machine signs caution workers about potentially hazardous machines and equipment operating nearby in order to help reduce injuries. Automatic equipment signs warn that machines stop and start automatically, ensuring that employees are not surprised by suddenly moving parts. Hazardous area signs denote areas with potential dangers such as moving machinery, low clearance, and construction. Lock out tag out signs remind workers to use proper lock out/tag out procedures before servicing potentially dangerous equipment. Machine guarding signs indicate potentially hazardous areas on equipment and/or warn employees not to operate machinery without guards in place. Pinch point signs warn personnel of areas where hands, clothing, limbs, or hair could be caught in moving machinery. Welding signs are posted near welding equipment to alert others to the presence of welding spatter, arcs, or fumes. X-ray, laser, and radiation signs indicate that an area has equipment that emits lasers or radiation.
