Roughing End Mill: Cobalt, 3 Flute, 3/4" Mill Dia, 3" LOC, 5-1/4" OAL

This cobalt roughing end mill is optimized for use on nonferrous metals. Cobalt end mills can be used at higher speeds and are harder and more wear resistant than high-speed steel. Uncoated end mills are used for milling a wide range materials in general purpose milling applications. Square end mills cut flat-bottomed grooves with 90° inside corners. They're also used for counterboring, side and face milling, and milling square shoulders. Center-cutting end mills cut on the end and sides of the mill and are used for plunging, ramping, and machining bottom surfaces. Roughing end mills remove large amounts of material from a workpiece more quickly than roughing/finishing end mills. Roughing is generally followed by a finishing pass.
