This Porter Cable cordless impact wrench uses impact-rated sockets and runs on Porter Cable batteries of a compatible platform and matching voltage. It combines a hammer-like impact with high rotational torque to drive and remove fasteners in assembly, automotive, maintenance, and construction applications. Friction Ring retainer (also known as a hog ring) fits into a groove on the anvil tip, compressing when the socket slides on and expanding to hold it in place. Sockets pull off for changeouts. Tabbed battery is the traditional design with cylindrical cells that funnel power along long, narrow pathways. Tabbed batteries charge more slowly and require more frequent charging than other battery types.
