Irrigation insert PVC (polyvinyl chloride) fittings are placed inside flexible polyethylene tubing and secured with worm drive clamps. PVC is a strong thermoplastic that resists acids, alkalis, oils, and other corrosive inorganic chemicals, making it resistant to the corrosive effects of sewage. It also offers moderate UV (ultraviolet) resistance. These fittings are suitable for low-pressure use in irrigation, pools, pumps, wells, and other outdoor cold water applications. They are not intended for hot or cold systems within residences or buildings, or for use with compressed air or gases.
