Stainless steel double-ferrule fittings include a front sealing ferrule (metal ring) and a back locking ferrule. The fitting's nut is screwed on tubing to tighten and hold the fitting and tubing in place. Double-ferrule fittings work with higher pressures than single-ferrule fittings and have a stronger grip.
