Free-running tanged helical inserts install into openings in the mounting surface using an installation tool and integrated installation tang. This tang assists with installation and is knocked out of the way once the male fastener is installed. Their threads do not feature any locking mechanisms and require a thread locker or adhesive to prevent unwanted rotation.
