Ball End Mill: Carbide, TiCN Coated, 2 Flute, 1" Mill Dia, 1-1/2" LOC, 4" OAL

General purpose carbide ball end mills cut a wide range of materials. Carbide end mills provide excellent wear and heat resistance and are harder than high-speed steel or cobalt. TiCN coating (titanium carbonitride) is a hard, wear-resistant general purpose coating that creates less friction to reduce heat build up than TiN. TiCN is not used with nonferrous materials. It has a coating oxidation temperature of 400° C and a coating hardness of 3000 HV. Ball-nose end mills create round-bottomed grooves and slots and mills complex shapes that don't have sharp corners. Center-cutting end mills cut on the end and sides of the mill and are used for plunging, ramping, and machining bottom surfaces.
