Dry-run multi-layered thrust washers have metal sliding surfaces lined with plastic to increase sliding performance, minimize maintenance, and extend the washer's service life. Also known as composite thrust washers, they're commonly used to replace conventional washers in heavy axial loads with slow rotational and oscillating movements, especially where maintenance is challenging or lubricants can't be used or may deplete quickly.
