Dimensionally stable A2 (air-hardened) tool steel flat bars are strong and tough yet easy to cut and shape with machine tools. They have excellent stability to maintain shape under heat treatment and compression after tempering and hardening. A2 is more wear-resistant than O1 but not as wear-resistant as D2.
