FixedCorner-radius carbide roughing end mills for stainless steel and super alloys (such as titanium, nickel, and cobalt) create a flat-bottomed groove with slightly rounded inside corners in applications that require a specific radius. Sometimes called bull-nose end mills, they have a square nose with slightly rounded corners that help distribute cutting forces evenly to prevent damage to the end mill and extend its life. Carbide end mills provide excellent wear and heat resistance and are harder than high-speed steel or cobalt. TiAlN coating (titanium aluminum nitride) withstands high temperatures for use at high speeds and resists cracks and oxidation better than TiN or TiCN coatings.
