These threaded high-pressure brass and bronze pipe fittings are rated for use with potable water. They twist onto high-pressure pipe of the same material and size, which is also rated for drinking water. They are threaded on both ends and require a thread sealant, such as PTFE tape, to create leakproof connections. Threaded fittings are easier to disassemble than unthreaded fittings for maintenance or temporary installations.
