Square End Mill: Cobalt, TiN Coated, 4 Flute, 7/16" Mill Dia, 1" LOC, 2-11/16" OAL

General purpose cobalt square end mills cut a wide range of materials. Cobalt end mills can be used at higher speeds and are harder and more wear resistant than high-speed steel. TiN coating is a general purpose coating that protects against wear and has a ceramic coating that is hard and heat resistant. TiN resists impact better than TiAlN and AlTiN coatings. It has a coating oxidation temperature of 550° C and a coating hardness of 2300 HV. Square end mills cut flat-bottomed grooves with 90° inside corners. They're also used for counterboring, side and face milling, and milling square shoulders. Center-cutting end mills cut on the end and sides of the mill and are used for plunging, ramping, and machining bottom surfaces.
